About Us

Hello! My name is Katelyn, and I'm the owner of The Strawberry Finch.

Growing up, my parents always made money on the side with their own businesses. They made wedding cakes, did embroidery, woodworking, and furniture restoration, and even owned a car repair business. We were always at vendor markets or dropping off orders, and that lifestyle greatly impacted me.

I was always interested in drawing and art. I took that love of design and started college seeking a degree in the graphic arts. Then I changed my mind and sought a business degree. I then went a few years without completing any classes, mostly because I just didn’t know what I wanted to do. I met my husband working a mundane job in a grocery store, and we both knew that we needed to return to school. So once again, I changed my degree to biochemistry.

Now, I LOVE science. I thrive on finding answers! In fact, I have the same personality type as Steve Jobs, if that tells you anything. So, you may be wondering why I decided to open a boutique, which is a reasonable question. Here are the driving factors behind that decision:

  1. I have always had that entrepreneurial spirit
  2. I love solving problems
  3. Creativity is in my blood
  4. I truly enjoy helping others feel good!

When you put all those things together, I just knew that the clothing business was where I needed to be!

My mission is to provide modern styles in as many sizes as possible for an affordable price. I specialize in finding easy-to-style and comfortable pieces, as well as procuring handmade goods from small businesses around the USA.

I have big goals with this boutique, and I won’t stop until I’ve crushed them!

Here are my plans, one step at a time:

-grow my online following

-build a brick-and-mortar so that I can employ locals and so that people can see my products first-hand

-build my own warehouse: again, more jobs and I will have greater control over my inventory

-create my own clothing line!! I want to offer amazing style in sizes XXS-5XL, but in order to do that I will need to make the clothes myself

So that’s it! I’m here to fill that gap that today’s apparel industry has left wide open. I hope you come with me on this journey!
